Mental Health Awareness Programme at Mahalakshmi Tech Campus

Date: 22 September 2025
Venue: Mahalakshmi Tech Campus, Chromepet, Chennai

Mahalakshmi Tech Campus organised a Mental Health Awareness Programme on 22 September 2025, with the objective of creating greater awareness among students about the importance of mental well-being and emotional health.

The session was addressed by Dr. Vidya, Psychiatrist, Collectorate, who interacted with the students and highlighted the importance of recognising emotional challenges, managing stress, seeking timely support, and maintaining a healthy state of mind. The programme encouraged students to understand that mental health is an essential part of overall well-being and should be given the same importance as physical health.

Addressing the students, Prof. Dr. Ushaa Eswaran, Principal, Mahalakshmi Tech Campus, emphasised that academic success should not come at the cost of one’s mental well-being. She urged students not to forget to keep their minds healthy and happy, even while pursuing their academic and career goals. She encouraged them to remain positive, communicate their concerns, seek help whenever necessary, and take care of their emotional well-being.

The programme provided an opportunity for students to reflect on the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It reinforced the message that a healthy mind is fundamental to effective learning, meaningful relationships, personal growth and a fulfilling life.

The initiative reflects Mahalakshmi Tech Campus’s commitment to the holistic development and well-being of its students, alongside academic and professional excellence. MTC’s broader institutional initiatives also include programmes focused on health and well-being as part of its SDG-aligned activities.
