The sixth and final day of the Faculty Development Program focused on integrating advanced concepts in Quantum Machine Learning, marking a fitting conclusion to an intellectually enriching week.

The morning session was conducted by Mr. Shadab Hussain, Senior Associate at Math Co, Dallas, Texas, USA, who brought a decade of expertise in data science and quantum systems. His lecture on “Quantum Machine Learning (Hybrid AI & Quantum Systems)” explored how quantum computing principles are transforming the field of artificial intelligence. Participants gained insights into the hybrid integration of classical and quantum models, their computational advantages, and emerging real-world applications in optimization, pattern recognition, and predictive analytics.

Following the session, participants engaged in an Article Summary activity, reviewing and discussing research literature related to Quantum Machine Learning. This exercise encouraged analytical thinking and allowed participants to consolidate key concepts learned during the program.

The post-lunch session included an MCQ and Reflection Journal, providing an opportunity for participants to assess their understanding and document personal takeaways from the FDP.

The program culminated with a Valedictory Session, where participants and organizers reflected on the week-long journey of learning, collaboration, and innovation. The session marked the successful conclusion of the FDP, celebrating the participants’ commitment to advancing their knowledge in Quantum Computing and its transformative impact on technology and education.

Industrial Visit Day 4 | Mahalakshmi Tech Cmapus

The fifth day of the Faculty Development Program featured an insightful blend of industrial exposure and academic learning, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of how quantum technology translates into real-world applications.

The day began with an industrial visit to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Chennai, an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Located in TIDEL Park, Chennai, C-DAC is a national leader in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and advanced digital technologies. Participants had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge research facilities and interact with professionals working on supercomputing, AI integration, and next-generation computing solutions. The visit offered valuable insights into how India’s technological ecosystem is advancing through indigenous innovation and research excellence.

Post-lunch, the afternoon session was led by Dr. Ushaa Eswaran, Professor, Mahalakshmi Tech Campus, who brought 36 years of rich academic experience to the program. Her session on “Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience: The Core of Indian Classroom Culture” highlighted the essential values that define effective teaching and learning environments. Through thought-provoking examples and reflective discussions, she emphasized how educators can integrate cultural values with modern pedagogical methods to nurture holistic learners.

The day concluded with a hands-on training and lab session, where participants engaged in collaborative activities that reinforced the day’s learning, merging both technological and educational perspectives in a meaningful way.

The fourth day of the Faculty Development Program delved into the fascinating world of Quantum Sensors, Metrology, and Quantum Computing Frameworks, bridging theoretical insights with real-world applications.

The day commenced with Mr. Durai Karthi Ganesh, Founder & CEO of KwantumG Research Labs Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, who brought over 15 years of industry expertise to his sessions. His morning lecture focused on Quantum Sensors & Metrology, where he explained how precision measurement, navigation systems, and medical imaging are being revolutionized through quantum technology.

During the article discussion session, participants explored the research paper titled “Quantum Machine Learning: A Tutorial” published in Neurocomputing (July 2021). The paper provided a deep understanding of how quantum algorithms are shaping the future of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Post-lunch, Mr. Ganesh continued with an advanced session on Quantum Computing Frameworks, introducing participants to platforms such as IBM Qiskit, Google Cirq, Rigetti Forest, and the principles of Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing. His detailed explanations helped participants connect theoretical principles with practical implementation frameworks used in cutting-edge quantum research.

The day concluded with an engaging hands-on training and lab session, where participants gained practical exposure to developing and simulating quantum programs using real-world frameworks, reinforcing the concepts learned throughout the day.

The third day of the Faculty Development Program focused on exploring advanced concepts in Quantum Communication and Quantum Hardware Platforms.

Dr. K. Venkata Subba Reddy, Associate Professor from NIT Warangal, initiated the day with a comprehensive session on Quantum Communication, covering emerging technologies such as Quantum Internet and Satellite Communication that are redefining secure global data transmission.

The article discussion session examined a classic research paper titled “An Application of Combinatorial Optimization to Statistical Physics and Circuit Layout Design” published in Operations Research (1988), encouraging participants to connect historical research foundations with modern computational advancements.

In the afternoon, Dr. Kapil Kumar Soni, Associate Professor from NIT Raipur, conducted an insightful session on Quantum Hardware & Platforms, elaborating on Superconducting Qubits, Trapped Ions, and Photonic Qubits, and their significance in realizing scalable quantum computers.

The day concluded with a hands-on training session, where participants engaged in practical exercises to reinforce their understanding of quantum communication systems and hardware implementation.

The second day of the Faculty Development Program delved deeper into the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing.

Ms. P. Vanitha from KwantumG Research Labs, Bengaluru, led an engaging session on Quantum Machine Learning, exploring how hybrid AI–Quantum systems are shaping the future of intelligent computation.

An insightful article discussion followed, centered on “Quantum Processor-Inspired Machine Learning in the Biomedical Sciences,” highlighting the transformative potential of quantum methods in medical research.

In the next session, Dr. Subramani from IIITDM Kancheepuram shed light on Quantum Cryptography, focusing on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and post-quantum security protocols essential for next-generation cybersecurity.

The day concluded with hands-on training, where participants applied theoretical insights to practical quantum problem-solving exercises.

The first day of the Faculty Development Program on Quantum Computing & Technology began with an inspiring inauguration, setting the tone for an insightful learning journey.

The sessions featured Mr. T. Jayakumar from KwantumG Research Labs, who introduced participants to the foundations of Quantum Computing, covering concepts like superposition, entanglement, and qubits.

A thought-provoking research discussion followed, focusing on quantum-inspired optimization methods and their real-world applications.

Later, Dr. S. Rajalakshmi from SSN College of Engineering guided participants through Hybrid Quantum-Classical Machine Learning Models (QSVM), bridging theory with emerging computational techniques.

The day concluded with hands-on training, offering participants an opportunity to practically explore the power of quantum algorithms.

The Mahalakshmi Tech Campus – Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, successfully organized a Six-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Quantum Computing & Technology – Bridging Theory and Applications” from 27th October 2025 to 1st November 2025, sponsored by the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.

The program aimed to provide faculty members with comprehensive insights into the emerging field of quantum computing, from fundamental principles to real-world applications, and to bridge the gap between academic theory and industrial implementation.

The inaugural session was graced by Mr. R. Ravi, Chairman, Mahalakshmi Group of Institutions, as the Chief Guest, who emphasized the importance of adopting cutting-edge technologies in higher education and using innovation-driven learning environments.

Industry Exposure

An industrial visit to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Chennai, helps the participants to get practical exposure on high-performance computing systems and insights into India’s advancements in computational research under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

The MTC – Faculty Development Program, takes an inspiring step towards building capacity in next-generation technologies and preparing educators to lead the quantum revolution in engineering education.

MTC Virtual Labs Workshop

Mahalakshmi Tech Campus organized a Virtual Labs Workshop in collaboration with IIT Delhi.

The workshop aimed to inspire students to explore experiments and strengthen their understanding of both basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation.

It also introduced students to a comprehensive Learning Management System (LMS) that offers a range of learning tools – from video lectures and web resources to animated demonstrations and self-evaluation modules.

Through this initiative, we empower our students to gain hands-on experience and enhance their practical learning using the latest digital platforms.
