Independence day celebration

Mahalakshmi Tech Campus, Chrompet, Chennai, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm on 15 August 2026.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Mr. R. Ravi, Chairman; Mrs. Sridevi Ravi, Chairperson; Mr. Ghuhan Ravi, Vice Chairman; Ms. Soundarya Ravi, Director; Prof. Dr. Ushaa Eswaran, Principal; Dr. Srinivas Gumparthi, Dean; Heads of Departments; faculty members; staff and students.

The programme commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony by Mr. R. Ravi, Chairman, followed by the National Anthem. The gathering stood with pride and respect as the National Flag was unfurled, commemorating the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and celebrating the spirit of independent India.

A key highlight of the celebration was the inspiring speeches delivered by the students, with a special focus on the “Make in India” vision. 

The students spoke enthusiastically about the importance of indigenous innovation, technology development, entrepreneurship, local manufacturing and creating opportunities within the country.

The student speakers emphasised the significant role of the younger generation in building a self-reliant and technologically advanced India. They highlighted how engineering students can contribute to national development through innovation, skill development, entrepreneurship and the creation of indigenous solutions.

The participation of the management, leadership, faculty, staff and students made the celebration a memorable and meaningful occasion. The programme concluded on a patriotic note, with everyone reaffirming their commitment to the values of unity, responsibility, innovation, self-reliance and nation building.
