This is the official welcome page of the Examination Cell at Mahalakshmi Tech Campus (MTC). Our work is to make the examination process as easy and completely free of any bias as possible for all the learners. We coordinate the Internal and External examination timetables; maintain all records of the students, all communalities with the Examination Branch in Anna University Chennai. All examinations are coordinated and supervised by our team while we also offer consistent assistance when dealing with results of any exams. MTC is an institution that upholds academic integrity and make sure all the information, events and records are well documented.

Examination Cell Overview

The Examination Cell at Mahalakshmi Tech Campus is headed by Examination Cell Coordinator and other efficient team members at the cooperating place. Some main duties and powers of the Cell are as follows: It is also responsible for all examination in the University – internal and external- and for conducting all the examination in a fair and proper manner as may be directed by the Chief Superintendent (Principal) of Examinations. The Cell currently has basic Warden service facilities, computing and printing services and retains physical materials in files. It works in collaboration with Anna University for all the examination related concerns and follow the university norms and standards.

Functions of the Examination Cell

University Semester Examinations:

  • Organization: Conducts and supervises the semester examination for the UG programs twice every year.

  • Web Portal Management: Responsible for managing the web-based student information system, assessment, faculty, option selection, ’value added’ /on-line offerings and co-curricula streams.

  • Records Management: Securely cross checks and updates students’ data.

  • Examination Arrangements: Responsible for the administration of university theory and practical examination schedules, as well as fee.

  • Results and Analysis: Result of the university and Results analysis.

  • Student Assistance: Helps students with general academic and examination specific questions.

  • Certificate Distribution: Awards university certificates to students.

  • Collaboration: Cooperates with the Zonal Office on profound related activities.

  • Cost Tracking: Apportions the expenses of examinations and submits them for university’s confirmation and payment.

Internal Theory and Practical Exams:

  • Internal Exams: Also, does internal assessment of several UG programs offered at the university.

  • Scheduling and Logistics: Establishes timetables for final exams, assign halls/accommodation and seating arrangements for internal tests.

  • Question Paper Management: In addition to preparing and issuing question papers for internal examinations, it also prints question papers.

  • Answer Script Handling: Single handedly handles answer scripts, mark entry and result analysis of internal exams.

  • Results and Queries: Shows internal assessment results, analyses the results from the test, and responds to academic and examination related questions from the students.

Examination Rules for Mahalakshmi Tech Campus

Identity Verification

Students have to produce Identity card issued by the principal to be allowed in to the exam hall. If this is not done, admission will be denied.

Arrival and Seating

The candidates are required to take their respective positions ten minutes to the start of the exam and stay calm. Comply with all that is prescribed in the Hall Superintendent.

Late Arrival and Early Departure

In this examination, no learner will be permitted to enter the classroom more than 30 minutes past the start of the test. In the same way, candidates cannot exit the hall before 45 minutes from the times when the examination began. Unfortunately, once a candidate is out they cannot come back in again.

Materials Allowed

Bring your own pens, pencils, erasers, geometric instruments, calculators, etc. You have to bring your own writing instruments and no sharing is permitted. When answering the questions, use only blue or black ink/ballpoint pen. It is permissible to use colored pens/sketch pens for diagrams or charts only. Mathematical tables, statistical tables and other standard handbooks other than those in general use can be obtained from the Librarian on demand and have to be returned immediately after use, with no writing allowed thereon. Any student may carry the handbooks, tables or charts only if he/she has sought for permission from the Chief/Hall Superintendent and such handbooks, tables or charts must not bear any writing or drawing on them.

Calculators and Communication Devices

Do not bring any programmable calculator whatsoever. Additional Regulations and Requirements that apply to all students include the following; Any textual matter, whether in printed or written form, is also barred.

Question Paper Verification

When a test is starting, check that you get the right question paper variety. All question papers dis-related to any course offered in this institution should be returned to the Hall Superintendent as soon as possible.

Time Management and Rough Work

They should strictly stick to the time allowed for the exam. Any work that is sketchy must Time Management and Rough Workbe done on the answer book. A separate foolscap size rough work sheet will not be provided. Any and all work done outside of the answer book will become part of your answer paper.

Interaction with Hall Superintendent

Avoid asking questions or seeking clarification from the Hall Superintendent during an examination.

Answer Book Handling

Do not remove any sheets from the answer book or have any other extra sheets with you. Any action that will be taken in this regard will be made an offence under the Indian Penal Code.

Submission of Answer Books

In the examination hall also, you are required to hand over your answer books to the Hall Superintendent.

Identification and Marking

In the first page of the answer book write your Register number only in the space provided. Any attempt to impress the examiner by writing names, appeals, assessments list, internal assessment marks, or any other identifiable marks shall attract garnishment, penalty or any other disciplinary action as deemed appropriate.

Malpractice and Disciplinary Action

All students found with malpractice will be barred from the exams and advised to report to the Chief Superintendent for further disciplinary action. The penalties are him/her subjected to by the Examination Disciplinary Committee in case the student is proven guilty.

Communication During Exams

No letters, telegrams or phone calls will be delivered to candidates during the examination.

Special Cases

All those students who are unable to write the examination due to any disease or other physical disability can write the examination with the help of a scribe only after getting prior permission from the Principal or Controller of Examinations. This service will attract a special fee.

Impersonation

That is in cases of impersonation the culprit shall be immediately arrested and handed over to the police for proper actions to be taken.
