International Mother Language Day – Event Report -21 Feb 2026
Mahalakshmi Tech Campus celebrated International Mother Language Day with great enthusiasm and cultural pride on campus. The programme was thoughtfully organized by the organizing team, making the event both meaningful and memorable.
The celebration beautifully reflected the richness and greatness of our mother tongue, Tamil. The speeches delivered in Tamil were powerful and deeply moving. Students and faculty members dressed in traditional attire added vibrant cultural charm to the entire event.
The highlights of the programme included the display of Bharathiyar’s books and traditional artefacts, a traditional bow (villu) display, snake and ladder concept presentation, silambam performance, traditional games like bambaram and pallankuzhi, Bharathiyar songs, tug of war, poetry recitations, speeches on the greatness of Tamil, energetic dance performances by boys, Oyilattam by girls, and a lively staff kummi.
Each segment of the celebration showcased the cultural heritage, literary richness, and traditional values of Tamil.
The management extends heartfelt appreciation to the faculty coordinators, Prof. Akash and Prof. Pavithra, and to the dedicated student teams whose efforts made the programme a grand success.
The celebration stood as a proud reminder of the importance of preserving and honoring our mother language and cultural roots.
