with patriotic fervor and enthusiastic participation from students and staff. The event was presided over by the Chairman Mr. Ravi in the august presence of the Principal, Chairperson Mrs.

Canva Design for Academic and Career – A Practical Handson Session

Session Objective:
To enable students to design professional posters and social-media creatives using Canva for academic and career needs; to introduce branding basics (typography, color, layout), correct export settings for print and digital, and efficient workflows
- Topics Covered:
Canva interface tour: templates, elements, uploads, layers - Branding basics: typography hierarchy, color contrast, spacing and alignment
- Using frames, grids, and smart guides for clean layouts
- Working with the Brand Kit: colors, fonts, logos (college branding)
- Designing an A4 poster from a blank page and from a template
- Image handling: background removal, transparency, cropping, filters
- Exporting correctly for print (PDF) and social media (PNG/JPG)
- Accessibility tips: readable fonts, color choices, alt text on Canva site

Mastery in Excel – Unlocking Smarter Workflows

Overview:
The Mastery in Excel workshop, conducted on 29th July 2025 at Mahalakshmi Tech Campus, proved to be a transformative learning experience for the students. The session, held during the Skill Development Hour (1:15 PM – 3:15 PM), was led by Mr. Oral Robert’s, Head of the Department, ECE, and was aimed at equipping students with powerful Excel techniques to enhance their academic and professional efficiency.
Workshop Highlights:

The students participated with great enthusiasm, eager to absorb new tips and shortcuts that could make data handling easier, faster, and smarter.
Practical Learning:
The session was designed to be hands-on and application-oriented. Students worked on live Excel sheets, exploring a wide array of functions—from basic formulas to time-saving keyboard shortcuts, conditional formatting, data validation, pivot tables, and introductory automation using macros.
Real-World Relevance:
Mr. Robert’s emphasized the real-world application of Excel in engineering, project management, and everyday tasks. He demonstrated how Excel can serve as a powerful decision-making tool when used efficiently.
Student Feedback:
The energy in the room was palpable. Students expressed their delight in learning skills that would help them “work smarter, not harder.” Many stated that they were unaware Excel had so many intelligent features that could simplify complex tasks.

Skill Empowerment: Students left the session equipped with a strong foundation in Excel that will support their academic projects, internships, and future employment.

Based on the overwhelming response, similar workshops will be scheduled regularly as part of the Skill Development Hour. A plan is underway to introduce a structured module on Digital Tools for Engineers, with Excel as a core component.

Launches New Industry-Academia Initiatives
along with participation in startup challenges. Mr. Prince Packiaraj, Director, insisted on designing and developing laboratories to support research and industrial consultancy.
